Oriental dragon studies

Several years ago Smudge was given a very nice statue of an Oriental dragon. Soon after she got it I had the desire to do a color piece with a couple of Oriental dragons in it. As is typical of a project like this I did some preliminary sketches to get a better understanding of some of the subject. These are a few of those sketches.

I decided to name the two dragons for the picture Chen and Kung Pao. Not the most inspired names but I find that I work better with characters if I have a name to call them by.
