They are very popular as pets around the world. Providing hours of joy to all ages, and many a sleepless night to as the wheels in their cages endlessly squeaks on and on. Unfortunately they are like most rodents and small mammals are not blessed with long lifespans. Two years is an average lifespan for one although cases of them apparently living to six years are not unheard of.

In wild hamsters are primarily small sacks of mobile protein for many a carnivore. However they are in many ways the mammalian equivalent of Doritos. "Eat all you want we'll make more!" These are some study sketches I did of them a couple years.
