Western Black Back Dragon 01 by Baron-Engel Western Black Back Dragon 01 by Baron-Engel
This was a series study sketches I did around the time of doing Dragon's Toy 2 [link] . The illustrations are also part of a project I have worked on and off again for the last few years. The idea is to produce a book about dragons that is written in a fashion similar to a wildlife guide. I should give the concept another looking over since my writing skills are starting to show signs of improving.

My only issue with this piece is it's not giving me the optin to zoom in so the writing is easier to read. Not your fault, though.

The dragon playing with the barrel is amusing. Awesome concept - I never thought of the idea of a dragon as a kind of packrat, but it makes sense. XD

Huh, interesting! Your artstyle seems to fit decently on dragons as well xD

I'm glad you like my dragons. It is an interesting comment though. I really don't see my style fitting or not fitting a particular subject matter. Maybe actually art style or school of style. Example, my usual style would not lend itself well to nonobjective abstract art, but if it is a physical, representational object I seem to make it stick most times.
