Back in October 2012 I was on Dustykatt's podcast Stay Brony, My Friends [link] . One of the people who makes the show possible is an individual who goes by the name Screwball. While folks were getting set up for the show I was sitting there with my headphone and mic on trying to chill since I always get stage jitters before a public performance, speech, demonstration, etc. I know it will go away once things get going so I have gotten use to it. One way have to relax is.....sketching!
So as I am sitting here waiting for showtime, all can from Screwball who was not on site was this constant clicking of his mouse. Suddenly I had this image of the pony Screwball chewing on a computer mouse. Ah! Quickly I sketched out a rough idea in my sketchbook. Then it was showtime but now I was relaxed. After the show I decided to do a quick color piece of the sketch.
Since Screwball was apparently a creation of Discord and the Brony Documentary had just come out I decided to put a John de Lancie [link] stallion on the monitor since John was the voice of Discord. I also decided to have some fun with Applejack's cutie mark on the computer case.
If you are at all interested in seeing my performance or just wondered what the nutball that draws all this looks like go to his show and look for episode 26.
Very great and detailed job! I do love colored pencils, but I guess I am too impatient to ever get great results like you do! Still thanks for sharing this! It is a lovely piece
I saw that ep, I gotta try your coloured pencil technique some time, I do have a lot of colored pencils, but its not a medium I've gotten comfortable with. I think the best tip you gave was just in general in the approach; don't think of it as a colored pencil, just a delivery system of pigment in pencil form.

It was the one thing that suddenly made the medium come to life for me. If you have anymore questions please drop me a line.
I love how you captured SB, he really deserves it for all he puts into the show.
don't ask where i plug the external memory into...It was the one thing that suddenly made the medium come to life for me. If you have anymore questions please drop me a line.
