Further images and characters from my Equestria Dreamscape. Princess Celestia has over the years assembled a vast and varied staff of ponies who help and assist in assuring the kingdom runs smoothly. This staff has skills ranging from administrative, military, scientific, to expertise in the arts, agriculture, and the arcane. These ponies have often work for distinct, well defined ministries and departments. With clearly defined duties and responsibilities.
However there is another group of ponies whose function in the government is not as clearly defined and who sometimes operate in a covert function. Some are subjects of the realm who are on occasion tapped to perform assignments of limited duration and who are granted a position, title, or office for the duration of their service.
Others hold regular positions in the palace but their job positions are effectively covers for their true job. Celestia's Mares-in-Waiting is one such job title. Yes there are mares who perform the functions one would expect from a Mare-in-Waiting. However Celestia has amongst their ranks a core group of mares who do far more than arrange flowers and tend to her mane and tail.
In particular there are 3 mares that act as Celestia's troubleshooters, covert investigation, and undercover security detail I'm afraid I have to stop you I got nothing. Quick Silver,Quick Silver practicing 01 Blood Feather, and Phoenix have proven themselves over and over again to be very successful, and are utterly loyal to Celestia and the Crown.
At first glance they appear to be rather motley crew, and each one of them is a pony who Celestia has personally helped rehabilitate and given a new chance on life. In return she's gained their complete confidence and trust. Of the 3 Phoenix is the roughest of the bunch and has required the most support and nurturing to save. Even with all that she's still the roughest around the edges.
