Night Terror

Before I go any further with this post I want to make one thing clear. Applebloom is not going to be turning into some psycho killing machine again in my Equestria dreamscape. However I have had several dreams where I have been witness to her nightmares/ terrors since she was freed from the Deception that possessed her. [link] And these have not been fun to experience. It is not surprising she is experiencing these since she effectively been forced to endure many of the same things that rape, child molestation, and orphans from war zones have had to confront.

The big difference this time is that she is not being forced to hide them like when she was being possessed. [link] In fact she has taken Princess Luna's advice and has begun keeping a dream journal by her bed stand. Also she has been writing letters to the Princesses on routine basis and had been receiving letters in return from them. She also has been visited a couple times in her sleep by Luna and they have talked about many of the things haunt the little filly.

However there was an event that occurred one evening that would make Luna take an even a more proactive role in Applebloom's therapy. The dream began with the little filly lying on the floor of a featureless white space with her back to me. I immediately could sense that I was in phantom camera crew mode and I was just a passive observer. From the right side I could see a large splatter of crimson blood on the floor that continuing out of my field of vision. I didn't know what was over there but I had a horrible feeling about it and could not make myself look that way.

Slowly Applebloom stirred and got to her hoofs. She was dazed, groggy and confused. Her front hoofs and muzzle were covered in blood. She seemed to not know where is was or what was had happened. Then she look at one of her hoofs and suddenly noticed the blood. Terror filled her eyes, then a voice to right spoke. It was filled with fear, confusion, pain and despair. It said one thing.

"Sssugar cube."

Applebloom immediately looked in the direction of voice and I found myself involuntarily looking in that direction to. Splattered across the floor was a body too torn, and tortured to support life and yet what was left still stared at the little filly with its one remaining eye. It looked plaintively at her and in a trembling voice it asked her.

"Wwwhhy, why did you do this to me? Why?"

At this point my viewpoint shifted as Applebloom awoke screaming in her bedroom. It was nighttime. In a clumsy, frantic fashion she clawed her way out of bed and bolted for the door. The rest of Apple family had her the little filly's scream and were already rising out of their beds to investigate the disturbance. Applejack was beginning to open bedroom door when a terrified Applebloom came bursting into her room and nearly bowled her over. She immediately grabbed big sister and began hugging her. She was crying uncontrollably and kept saying the same thing over and over again.

"I love you sis! I love you! I'd never hurt you, never hurt you! Never!"

Eventually the rest of the Apple family got her to calm down and explain what had happened to her. Sitting on the couch in downstairs living room with a blanket wrapped around her, and her big sister by her side Applebloom retold the terrible dream she'd had had. When she was done everypony agreed that this was far worse than the nightmares she'd had experienced since the Deception left her and first thing in the morning they'd get a letter written and on its way to Canterlot. Luna would want to know about this right away.
