Cooling off by Baron-Engel Cooling off by Baron-Engel
We'll return to Luna and Zecora soon in my Equestria dreamscape, but in the meantime it is Applejack cooling off after a hard day of work on the farm. This scene was a little moment I had in one of my dreams.

In barn area of Sweet Apple Acres there is an open shower where one can take wash off the worse of a day's labor without tracking it into the house. The shower is connected to a cistern on the roof so the water is not heated but during the summer and early autumn that is usually just fine.

So it was that one afternoon during the autumn I was visiting Sweet Apple Acres to make a delivery. I was walking around the farm looking for someone to leave the parcel with when I heard the sound of running water coming from the barn area. Sticking my head around the corner this what I saw. AJ was silently standing under the curtain of water and was letting it carry the dirt and stress from her body and down the drain.

To be continued.

Applejack is the best.

Seeing her just relaxing like that  after a hard days work is just really calming.

Applejack is the best. Love

She is one of my two most favorite ponies from the show.

Nice to see a more peaceful image of Applejack after all the whole Posessed Applebloom episode.

Yes life is slowly beginning to settle down again at Sweet Apple Acres. Which is just fine with AJ.

Heh, I'm loving that calm smile of contentment she's got there.
I was eating some apple fritters this morning and instantly thought of her =P

I get apple fritters for our household about once a week, and I often announce their arrival by saying "Applejack sends her love!"

I like that slight grin she has. The filly may work hard, but she knows it's worth it and enjoys her life.

She may be tired but it is because she's done an honest days work.

Ah, poor AJ. You can just feel how worn down by everything she is here.

Yes but she's proud of the days work she and her family have put in. Sweet Apple Acres has made it through another busy day.

This is more or less me whenever I feel like dung. If nothing else, I'll be too busy waiting to cool off from the hot shower to think about whatever plagued my mind in the first place.

Ooo yeah! Positively Voyeuristic! =D

I love the use of line and the tonality. Really loving the sheen of the mane and her coat.

A nice mix of stylization with anatomical structure. The hock, shoulder and rump are very structured.

Yeah, unlike in the show the joints on ponies in my dreams are little bit more anchored in their locations.

Very practical, which is typical of farmers.

Yeah and AJ is a very practical farmer at times.

I seem to recall that a lot of rural (and some urban) houses of a particular age will have something like this beside the back or cellar doors. Especially houses that used to belong to farmers and miners.

I guess washing themselves in public does not carry quite the same meaning as it does here... Not sure if I worded that very well or not either. Ah, the joys of early morning comments.

I recall a much earlier image from this dreamscape of... ah, got it.

Black & Tan, serving filly at The Bucking Mare, whom Sky Brush (then a unicorn called Baron) chatted with while the filly was washing up.

Yeah it is not that uncommon in some older home and especially warm climates to have the bath as an outdoor structure. Either completely open or as its own enclosed structure.

I guess that means watching someone shower is just normal xD Is that different in Canterlot and other large cities?

Maybe not normal but not likely to get the same reaction it might have here. Especially in the US.

I'm not certain I am really that much of a fan of it. It just happens that the last few posting have had wet manes in them.

Something tells me there's going to be a short cloud-burst during Rainbow's, um, 'performance'.

She's not going to be wearing a white T-shirt, is she?
